About this building

The Albert Wing is MIA latest development and offers modern office space for business who are looking to let space starting at 411 sq.ft. up to 1022 sq.ft.  There are also two off ground floor, retail spaces as part of the redevelopment.

The Albert Wing is accessed via Legge Lane (B1 3LD) and you can either use the passenger lift to access the upper floors or take the staircase and view the glazed courtyard with the large olive tree.

The glazed balustrades take you to each floor and the majority of the units have the advantage of toughened glass windows overlooking the impressive courtyard/olive tree.

Building history

The plot of land that the Albert Wing occupies was previously a Protestant Dissenting Charity School.

Following the MIA purchase of The Argent Centre, this area of land was let to a wood yard which, over time, was no longer feasible.

Following the success of the New Wing (short-sighted in the naming of our buildings), the unlettable spaces were redeveloped to offer 16 spaces including two retail units.

The works were completed in 2008 and the Albert Wing was officially opened by Councillor Ian Austin.

Did you know?

The building was named the Albert Wing as previously the Argent Centre was in fact called the Albert Works with the Vittoria Works opposite. The name change came about by W J Myatt, Silversmiths as Argent is French for silver.
